Andrew Breitbart: The Very Modern Model Of A Modern Major Ahole
Andrew Breitbart fancies himself as a pioneer of the “digital” age. In fact, he regularly points out how he was a kind of “co-founder” of the Huffington Post. And he may well have been.
Anyone who has regularly read this site knows, there is little if any love lost between me and the Huffington Post. The blatant censorship of the loyal readers, who take the time who take the time to comment on stories HP posts is just one of the reasons I pretty much loathe HP. Be that as it may be, Huffington Post has NOTHING on Andrew.
Breitbart fancies himself some kind of “investigative journalist”. He’s regularly been at the center of controversial moments, some credible and some completely fake. But he continually insists on being taken as a serious “journalist” even when his credibility average is something lower than the Mendoza line(baseball reference).
So over the weekend, this little exchange took place:
So the protesters need to “behave” themselves? Really?
Aside from looking and sounding like a guy who was in the midst of a serious bender, Breitbart lecturing anyone on the finer points of ”behaving” themselves is like Ron Jeremy lecturing people about the evils of sex outside of marriage.
It’s funny, when Andrew managed to finally get a story straight and not either embellish or flat out lie, he was taken aback when the world at large were a little more than skeptical at first. Was he right about former Congressman Anthony Weiner? Yes. But you will have to excuse the rest of the world for taking pause when Andrew broke the story, given his track record. When Weiner was about to give a press conference, it was Andrew who, without any hesitation, jumped up on stage and made the whole thing a sort of vindication for all his past transgressions. In spite of the fact he had been behind several witch hunts that when held up to scrutiny where completely bogus, he jumped at the chance to use the Weiner circumstance to try and whitewash the lies he had previously told.
Remember James O’Keefe? He was Andrew’s new golden goose. The young lad had taken down the “almighty” ACORN with his “undercover” videos that showed the vile underbelly of how ACORN was helping pimps get government funds to aide them in their line of work.
He also was such an industrious young lad that he thought it to be a good idea to attempt to wiretap the offices of Senator Mary Landrieu.
And this all brings us back to Andrew. He of the heart of gold and ethically pure standing. When O’Keefe was exposed for the absolute fraud he is, what did Andrew do? He ignored the facts and moved on. To this day, he still claims that ACORN is some kind of pimp loving, assistance giving organization that he and James were heroes for taking down. That is, until you watch the unedited versions of James’ videos.
So, having been publicly discredited and exposed, when Andrew finally got something right, he jumped at the opportunity to tell the world he had finally gotten his first hit in several 100′s of plate appearances. Sorry Andrew, but if you were a baseball player, your batting average would have gotten you cut years ago.
So we return to this weekend’s little exchange. During the video, on top of maintaining he “holier than thou” persona while telling the crowd to “behave” themselves, telling them they are “freaks and animals”, he digs really deep at the end and tells the crowd to “stop raping people”. Yeah, class act that one!
Perhaps, Andrew ought to lay off the sauce or whatever else it is he’s ingesting and entertain the truth once in a while. not the fabricated crap he tries to spin as truth.
Why anyone actually takes this man seriously at this point is a mystery to me. Did he get the Congressman Weiner thing right? Sure, but that was after a magnificent procession of lies and mistakes that should have long ago shown him to be what he is, a joke.

The problem with the Breitbarts of the world isn't that they exist it's that they have an audience who doesn't care or doesn't believe that their "sources" are nefarious and even imaginary. So, he gets play. When people want a story to be heard a certain way, believed based upon so-called facts, they will believe anyone and anything that fits their agenda. I am rarely on HP anymore. Whatever I do read or listen to is taken in through the filter of skepticism. Part of that comes from needing to stop grinding the axe every second of every day for sanity's sake. Part of that comes from being completely bored by the unending slants and hidden agendas. Breitbart bores me.
